IT Workz heeft bij ROC West-Brabant de eerste 10.000 studenten overgezet naar het Live@EDU platform toe. :
Rob Franken, bestuursvoorzitter ROC West-Brabant, heeft woensdag 14 april op het Trivium in Etten-Leur aan vier van de ruim 10.000 ROC-studenten die over zijn gegaan naar de nieuwe mailomgeving Live@edu van Microsoft, een X-Box 360 uitgereikt. De uitreiking vond onder belangstelling van studenten, ouders en docenten plaats. Begin dit jaar zijn al 10.000 studenten van het ROC-West Brabant overgegaan naar Live@edu......

Vandaag deed het SharePoint team de aankondiging dat de Office 2010 producten zijn afgelopen vrijdag RTM gaan. Partners kunnen vanaf 27 april de RTM downloaden. Het mooie er van is dat Nederlands ook direct beschikbaar zal zijn. Zie hieronder de blogpost:
Today we reached an exciting engineering milestone- the release-to-manufacturing (RTM) for Office 2010, SharePoint 2010, Visio 2010 and Project 2010!
RTM is the final engineering milestone and a major achievement for all of the internal teams who worked so hard to get to this point. As tirelessly as our engineering teams worked, we would never have reached this milestone without incredibly active participation from our customers and partners. More than 5,000 organizations and partners have worked with us on rapid deployment and testing of the products, and the feedback that we’ve received from all these programs has shaped a fantastic set of products that I’m sure our customers will love.
Our Volume License customers with active Software Assurance (SA) on these products will be one of the first to receive the 2010 set of products. They will be able to download the product in English, French, Spanish, German, Russian, and Dutch via the Volume Licensing Service Center starting April 27. Other languages will be available on a rolling timeline. Customers without SA will be able to purchase the new products through Volume Licensing from Microsoft partners starting May 1.
Earlier this year we announced that we will officially launch SharePoint 2010 to our business customers on May 12 with a virtual launch. Our virtual launch will allow people from around the globe to participate in our launch by going to http://www.the2010event.com. Stephen Elop, President of Microsoft’s Business Division, will deliver a keynote as part of the virtual launch, and the virtual launch site will showcase product demos, customer and partner testimonials, and interviews with product managers and executives, and we hope this will give you another great way to explore, learn, and get excited about the 2010 releases.

Het volgende kwam ik tegen op het weblog van Harry Dubois:
12 april 2010 tekende it’s learning en Microsoft een overeenkomst voor het integreren van Microsoft Outlook Live, Sharepoint Online en Office Web Applications in het leerplatform it’s learning.
Dit betekent dat it’s learning de allerbeste verzameling van webgebaseerde communicatiemiddelen kan aanbieden aan haar klanten zodat ze productiviteit en samenwerking kunnen verbeteren.
Leerlingen, studenten en docenten kunnen eenvoudig en veilig bestanden delen en samenwerken met behulp van Office documenten direct in it’s learning. Enige voorwaarde om er mee te werken is een Internet verbinding op een computer of een mobiele telefoon.
De eerste beta-versie is beschikbaar in juni. Uitrol naar onze klanten wordt verwacht in het nieuwe schooljaar.
“Dit is een belangrijke mijlpaal voor it’s learning in ons streven naar een volledig open leerplatform. Wij bieden al integratie met Google. Onze samenwerking met Microsoft biedt onze klanten een keus tussen de twee technologieën, aldus Vegard Sivertsen, directeur van it’s learning Nederland.

Microsoft Education Labs heeft vandaag een office add-on uitgebracht voor de integratie van Office met Moodle. Daarnaast is er ook een video uitgebracht, deze is hier te zien.
Education Labs announced today the release of two new resources for Moodle:
- Office Add-in for Moodle that provides educators an easy way to find, open, and save their Microsoft Office files housed in Moodle.
The Office Add-in works with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. In addition to the “Open from Moodle” item that lets you open and edit documents directly from Moodle, it also adds a “Save to Moodle” option so you can save any document directly to Moodle without having to go through the web interface. A video has been posted for more detail.
- A whitepaper on how a Moodle administrator can configure Moodle to use SharePoint as the file system.
Using SharePoint as the file system for Moodle provides a number of benefits including document versioning, recovery of deleted files and integrated search capabilities.
