You can dedicated hosts on the same machine for batching vs. messaging. When you have one host that is busy with a batch, the messaging host can still process messages. The same is true for prioritization. You can have a host that is busy with losts of low priority messages and a host that occasionally receives a high priority message. That high priority message will get processed, regardless how busy the 'low priority'-host is.

However. When the batch-host and the low priority host consume a lot of resources (memory, io, etc.) the high priority host may not get enough resources to do its job. To be absolutely sure you should place the high priority host on a dedicated server (either physical or virtual).

Do you need at least two servers to do so?
